and on to June-

Not sure about you all, but May has flown by in my neighborhood.

I have started a couple of projects this months and I am sure that they will take me into June and possibly beyond.

I started an Angel series this month and hope to draw Seven Of the High Archangels. Research has been fascinating as I read, paint, and listen for inspiration.

Here are a few images of the start-

The second project I finally started was an acrylic paint on canvas piece. It measures approximately 16x36 inches in size. I have been working on the sketch for a few weeks and finally felt ready to start the painting phase.

The background and girl went down relatively quickly, I was pleasantly surprised. My original inspiration included an elaborated mask on the painted face of a girl. As I drew in the mask I had the feeling this painting was going to take another direction. I have decided to take some time and look at the painting from a few different angles. The black markings are charcoal. When I left the gallery last night I washed them all off and will take a fresh look at my girl today when I walk into the space. Fresh eye possible fresh idea.

And so it goes ...hurry up and wait- see you all in June folks!

On my drawing table this week-

May is shaping up to be a hurry up and wait month. Lot's of illustrating going on, but nothing seems complete.

This week was about the bridal season that usually happens in June. So far some nice things were turned out on the table, I hoping  a shining star will emerge in the next few days.

Also this week I am trying VERY hard to work larger. The last sketch is approximately 16x20 inches. usually I work my fashion figure in the 9x12 or 11x14 inch range. I'll let you know how that works out.

Later you all

April Showers...

My first blog post on my new website. I hope that this blog is more successful than the one I have written on my old blogger site.

I still haven't decided what to do with that site... and in the next few days I will need to do a post over there to direct them here...
